As head of CineMaya Media, Inc., Sunil Hali has emerged as a pioneer in South Asian media production and management in the U.S. Mr. Hali's company develops and promotes subjects of cross-cultural interest such as international entertainment, art and performance events. His first producing venture was a 52 part Indo-American soap opera called Mausam. (www.Mausam.com). In 1997, Mr. Hali produced the Music Festival of India, www.mfindia.com a mega event celebrating India's 50th anniversary of independence. In 1999 he produced Miss India Worldwide for Zee Network, broadcast worldwide. In June 2000, Mr. Hali launched NREYES, a television series on Zee TV Network (www.nyres2k.com), profiling successful Non Resident Indians (NRI's). The series is in its second year and is broadcast across four continents. Also in June 2000, Mr. Hali began publishing a North American edition of The Indian Express through a franchise agreement with Indian Express Newspaper Limited. The newspaper is the fastest growing South Asian newsweekly across the continent and is recognized for its quality and content. In May 2002, Mr. Hali launched EBC Radio on 1680 AM WTTM, which provides South Asian music, news and talk 24 hours a day, 7 days/week and has approximately 400,000 listeners. EBC Radio will also integrate and build advertising revenue opportunities for CineMaya's media platforms.
