Special Report: Congressman Chris Cannon
Election season is drawing near. We are kicking off our election coverage of
candidates and incumbents with a special report detailing Rep. Chris
Cannon's (R-UT) voting record, contributors, personal holdings, and more.
Cannon has one of the worst voting records in Congress on immigration,
trade, labor, and economic legislation, so we find it especially appropriate
to kick off our election season with an analysis of Cannon's Congressional
service.
We have compiled data from a myriad of sources that details Cannon's
personal financial stake in guest worker programs, as well as his
contributors and their usage of guest worker programs. We also provide his
voting history and ratings from the major labor and immigration
organizations. And finally, we provide a special report on Cannon's recent
invitation to call him on his personal cell phone to discuss his stance on
increasing mass immigration and illegal immigration.
So why do it? Why invite hundreds of thousands of foreign workers into U.S.
while your countrymen are heading to unemployment lines? Why confirm the
belief, held by many Americans that Republicans are in the back pocket of
big business? The answer may be found in what Chris Cannon owns.

The Weaponization of Comparative Advantage
by Mike Mina, award-winning science fiction writer and President of the Ohio
Republican Assembly
Many insist that free trade has been good for America, and that in total, we
gain more than we lose. But "free trade" in this context is a misnomer.
Congressman Paul (R-TX) correctly observed that "Genuine free trade would
involve low tariffs and no subsidies. Export-Import Bank funding, OPIC, and
trade development subsidies to our foreign competitors would never exist....
A true free trade policy would exclude the management of trade by
international agencies such as the WTO and NAFTA." What we now have more
closely resembles centrally planned trade on an international scale than
free trade.

Slamming Entitlement
by Norma Sherry, award-winning writer and producer and host of The Norma
Sherry Show on WQXT TV
According to Federal Reserve guru, Alan Greenspan, who is obviously in touch
with the man and woman on the street, in the ghetto, in the old-age home, in
the nursing home, living hand to mouth, he proclaims the answer to our
financial woes of an overly exuberant and financially-bankrupt
administration is to cut from those who need it the most.
Greenspan offered his latest mutterings, not as a spokesperson of the
Federal Reserve, as if one could separate the man who wields so much power
from his titled position of “Federal Reserve Chairman”. Not one word did he
whisper to our billions of dollars to fight a war that should never have
been. Not one word did he growl about the tax breaks zealously given to our
corporations. The same corporations, by the way, who have tax shelters up
the ying yang, off-shore headquarters created solely to exonerate them from
our tax-paying laws, and who have de-railed the American worker by importing
and exporting cheap labor. Nada. Not a word.

Support Throckmorton in the Utah Republican Congressional Primary
Matt Throckmorton is running in the Republican Utah primary against one of
America's most un-American Representatives, Rep. Chris Cannon. Throckmorton
understands the gross misuse of the H-1b and L-1 visa programs and is also
taking a stand against illegal immigration. Meanwhile, his opponent, Cannon,
is sponsoring bills to grant amnesty and is known as "the point man on
immigration" in Congress.
American workers must support the leaders who support the American
workforce. Throckmorton is one of the most patriotic, pro-labor leaders in
Utah. There is one week until the Utah Republican primary. In Utah District
3, winning the Republican primary is as good as winning the general
election.
We must set an example in Congress of what happens to elected leaders who do
not represent the American people. Make an example of Cannon. Support
Throckmorton today.

Consumer Empowerment - Buying American Goods &Services
The best way to build a strong America is to keep Americans working. Each
week, our newsletter will highlight an American company that goes the extra
mile to support the American workforce. Thousands of American textile
companies have moved offshore or gone out of business. But a few remain.
Today we put the spotlight on one very special clothing company:
No American industry has been as hard-hit by cheap offshore competition than
the textile/clothing industry. Yet Quantum Cotton has managed to keep its
production right here in the USA. Why? Because the management at Quantum
Cotton cares about its workforce, its environment, its people. Quantum
Cotton believes that there are still Americans who believe it is important
for Americans to wear American clothing. All of their products are 100%
sweatshop free and made in America.
Prove to Quantum Cotton and America that they made the right choice to keep
production in America. Support them, just as they support you and the entire
American workforce. The next pair of khakis, the next tee shirt, the next
golf shirt, the next button-up you buy - buy it from Quantum Cotton.

Weekly Media Watch - Fox News, Arizona ABC 15, and More, Taking on the Jobs
Crisis

This week Fox News reporter Matt Hayes wrote one of the most hard-hitting
news articles on the guest worker legislation. He focused his article on the
politicians, specifically Rep Chris Cannon (R-UT), who have taken
contributions from special interests who use H-1B labor. And he wrote
candidly about Americans losing their jobs to cheap foreign labor imported
into our country.

KNXV TV 15 Phoenix is doing a series on Arizona State jobs that are being
outsourced to India. You can view the video of yesterday's show online
(click” Lost to India"). Napolitano's footage shows her character well - we
were shocked when she simply turned around and walked away from a room full
of reporters when she was asked how is it that she didn't know that
Arizona's welfare call-center was being offshored. Rob Sanchez and Dawn Teo
have both been interviewed for this series, and their interviews are slated
to air sometime next week.

Help Keep the American Dream Real for Millions of Americans - Volunteer or
Contribute Today
We are at a pivotal point in the battle to keep the American dream real. It
is a battle in which we must all take a stand, we must all be steadfast, and
we must all commit to stop the flight of jobs from American shores. Then,
and only then, will we ensure that the American dream is a reality for every
able, willing American, including your children and your grandchildren.
We need your help to take back our country from corporate special interests.
We can't out-spend them. So we must out-work them. Together, we have added
sixty chapters across America. We have built a web community with more than
58 email discussion groups, a web-based discussion forum, a blog, and more
than 900 pages of research, articles, and information. With your help, we
have been talked about in hundreds of news articles, publications, and
shows. You made this happen.
We need volunteers and contributions today to ensure that we can continue
our media campaigns, community outreach, public awareness, research, and
more. Just a $10 donation puts bumper stickers on 10-15 cars, seen by
hundreds of people. Just $20 puts our public awareness signage in 15
intersections seen by thousands. Just $5 sends two press kits to reporters
than can reach hundreds of thousands through their reporting. Volunteering
for one hour can ensure one person's future.
Volunteer today <http://www.rescueamericanjobs.org/volunteer/index.html> or
Contribute today <http://www.rescueamericanjobs.org/join/index.html>
